Baltimore Congressional Delegation Announces More than $9 Million in Federal Funding for Baltimore County COVID-19 Response Efforts

Today, U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin and Congressmen Dutch Ruppersberger, John Sarbanes, and Kweisi Mfume (all D-Md.) announced $9,974,703 in federal funding to reimburse Baltimore County for emergency protective measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We will keep working to secure additional resources to support Maryland as we continue fighting this virus and building back better.”

The award of $9,974,703.35 covers:

  • Purchased and distributed PPE, student/teacher partitions, and radial air purifiers for preparation of safely reopening Baltimore County Public Schools
  • Provided face masks, N95 respiratory masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, cleaning wipes, and partitions for citizens and employees (including first responders, public safety officers and other essential employees that may come in contact with COVID-19 positive individuals) to prevent the spread of the coronavirus
